Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups of flour
  • 1 teaspoon matcha
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup softened butter
  • 1 1/4 cups of granulated sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Sugar for sprinkling

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Lightly grease 2 baking sheets.
  2. Combine flour, matcha powder, and salt in a bowl that is large. In another bowl – cream butter. Egg yolk and vanilla extract.
  3. Gradually combine ingredients, blend well. Cover cellophane and chill.
  4. Roll the dough out. Use a cookie cutter to cut out biscuits.
  5. Place 1 inch apart on the prepared baking sheets.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until lightly colored.
  7. Sprinkle sugar within the biscuits that are hot and transfer to wire racks to cool.
